Teachers
Touching the Lives of the Future
The education system in Nicaragua is the weakest in Central America. Overcrowded classrooms, lack of curriculum and poorly trained teachers lead to low achievement levels, unmotivated students with minimal problem-solving skills. Teachers are extremely underpaid and are asked to teach with little or no materials and curriculum.
We are currently working with and mentoring teachers in small Christian schools. Building relationships with teachers is our first objective. Those relationships then open up the door for us to provide mini-lessons and workshops for the teachers. Our heart is to equip the teachers to better meet the needs of their students in the most loving and Christ-centered way they can. It is our desire to encourage teachers to be the difference in student’s lives that will change their future.
Partnering Nicaraguan teachers with teams of teachers from the US is one way that we help to provide more resources for schools and individual classrooms. We invite teachers to come and share resources, training and friendship with local Nicaraguan teachers.
