Escuela Esperanza (School of Hope)
Scholarship Program
The education needs in Nicaragua are great. According to USAID, the average Nicaraguan receives only 4.6 years of schooling. This number falls to 2.1 years in extremely poor rural areas. Nearly 500,000 children, ages 3 to 12, remain outside the formal education system. The adult literacy rate is 68 percent.
The CFCI-Nicaragua scholarship program, “Escuela Esperanza,” began in 2005 with the support of the Touch the Ground Ministry — with the vision of helping boys and girls with few economic resources attend school.
In accordance with our ministry philosophy, we work alongside local churches that have a vision to offer quality education withing a Christian environment. We encourage the director and pastor to develop a godly vision in the ministry of the school. We desire to offer training to the teachers and administration according to the needs of the school.
Because many of these schools lack basic resources, Escuela Esperanza provides a variety of school supplies to schools and students. Through tuition scholarships we benefit students with few resources so that they can enjoy receiving a quality education in an Christian environment.
